During his homily at Santa Marta, the pope reflected on the risk of living a gnostic faith, without a community nor real human contact, especially in these moments.

It's true that in this moment, we have to build familiarity with the Lord in this way, but only to get out of the tunnel, not to stay in it. This is the familiarity with the apostles: it is not gnostic, not “going viral,” not selfish for each of them, but a concrete familiarity with the people. Familiarity with the Lord in daily life, familiarity with the Lord in the sacraments and among the people of God.
He commented that although people participate in the sacraments through the internet, “this is not the Church. It is the Church in a difficult situation.” He said the ideal of the Church is to always be with the people and with the sacraments.
