Don’t be afraid of being a small Christian minority in predominantly Muslim countries, and make Christian communities welcome to all.
That was the message Pope Leo XIV gave at the
Conference of Latin Bishops of the Arab Regions, which includes areas ranging from the Holy Land, Iraq, and Syria to Egypt, the Horn of Africa and the Gulf countries.
POPE LEO XIV
The vitality of the Church is not measured by numbers, structures, or resources, but by fidelity to the Gospel.
Not because it responds to violence with more violence, but it counters force with charity.
POPE LEO XIV
Take care of the many migrants as well, especially in the Gulf countries. Many of them live far from their loved ones and experience loneliness and instability. May your communities be homes where no one feels like a stranger.
The Churches are very different from each other
and separated by thousands of miles. Some have
their roots in the first centuries of Christianity
while others served communities that have arrived more recently as migrants.
