The Pope was first welcomed by Cuban president Raul Castro and then by Havana's Archbishop, Cardinal Jaime Ortega. ;
The Pope was welcomed with military honors and was greeted by a group of children who gave him a set of flowers arrangements. Raul Castro then delivered his speech, followed by Pope Francis. ;
