Hakuna: Movement formed by youth at Rio's WYD pray for Church from Rome

They are Christians who want to renew devotion to Eucharistic adoration. They attend weekly adoration in many Spanish cities, such as Madrid and Barcelona. Usually during adoration, they perform lively music they have composed.

Hakuna, Madrid

“For me personally, it is a liberating love. It is a love for others, to help others, to educate people in finding God and become saints.”

Hakuna, Girona

“We are not inventing anything new. We want to follow the style of the early Christian communities who lived close to Christ, who are happy, who want to enjoy life and all the rewards of it.”

Five years later, they are here in Rome to support the Youth Synod and thank Pope Francis for his inspiring words. There are more than 1,500 young people and families in the Eternal City for the weekend.

Hakuna, Barcelona
“It is a great opportunity for all members to come together and pray together for the unity of the Church.

Throughout their time in Rome, they are performing their music and doing Eucharistic adoration in various places. They also came for the canonization of Archbishop Oscar Romero and Paul VI.
