Pope Francis prayed to conquer fear created by pandemic

During his daily Mass at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis prayed for people living in fear because of the pandemic. He prayed especially for the elderly.

“The elderly, who are alone in nursing homes, or hospitals, or in their own homes, and don't know what will happen. The fear of those who don’t have regular jobs and are thinking about how to feed their children. They foresee they may go hungry.”

He also prayed for social workers helping people through these times, despite the risk of contracting Covid-19 themselves.

He prayed so people could conquer their own fears. “Each one knows what their own fears are,” he said.
