This is “Turn Around.” It's the latest single released by Gen Verde, the international performing arts group of the Focolare movement.
It's an exciting and upbeat pop song and its lyrics contain a very important prayer: a message to protect Creation.
From the speech at the UN by Greta Thunberg, to the words of Pope Francis in 'Laudato Si',' to astronaut James Buchli, these are all the main inspirations behind the new song written by member Nancy Uelmen, who wants to address climate issues.

'I think it's really important that we understand the beauty of Creation, what we have, the gifts that we've been given by God.. and if we really truly understand that, then we'll want to protect the earth. Together we can make this choice to “Turn Around,” all together, and make a difference in the world. That's kind of the central part of the message of the song.'
Gen Verde is an all-female band composed of 19 artists from 14 countries based in the International Center of Loppiano, Italy.
Since its formation in 1966, the Catholic band has had over 147 members, but they have always maintained the same values. Gen Verde’s artistic goal remains the same: to contribute toward creating a global culture of peace, dialogue and unity.

'We strongly feel that the great source of inspiration for all these songs is the everyday life we live between us. We feel that through these experiences and by putting them into songs, we can give an answer to the great problems that society faces.'
Gen Verde hopes to use songs like “Turn Around” to keep inspiring people all over the world, especially youth, to come together and work for common goals.
